The City of Rose Hill is a wholesale water customer of the City of Wichita. In August, the Wichita City Council received a valid petition requesting that fluoride be added to Wichita water. The Wichita City Council had two options: (1) pass an ordinance to add fluoride to the water supply; or (2) put the matter to a vote on the November 6th ballot. State Statute only allows electors of the city receiving the petition to vote. Therefore, Rose Hill residents and other wholesale water customers will not be allowed to vote on the issue.
The Mayor and Council would like to know where you stand on fluoridation. Please respond to the “Fluoridation Survey” by Oct. 10th.
